Zoella’s Twitter and Instagram Accounts Contain Sexist and Homophobic Content
The British YouTube vlogger Zoella has over 11 million subscribers and is the most followed person on Twitter and Instagram. However, some of her tweets are inflammatory and contain homophobic and sexist language. She calls a X Factor contestant a ‘fat chav’ and a woman she doesn’t know as a ‘vulgar’ and’skank’. In the past, she has apologized for these statements and has since withdrawn from social media.
In 2010, Zoella called a X Factor contestant a ‘fat chav’ and a fat chav in a tweet. While the tweets were deleted quickly, some were not. In 2011, Zoella mocked a X Factor contestant for being a “fat chav.” In 2012, she endorsed a PS50 advent calendar from Boots. She also designed the calendar, which initially cost PS50 but has since been discounted.
Zoella also has a Twitter account that contains sexist content. A couple of years ago, the star mocked chavs and tramps. These tweets have since been deleted. In 2012, she called one X Factor contestant a “fat chav” and urged people to support the singer. In 2013, she created her own brand and released an advent calendar that costs PS50. The advent calendar is filled with treats including a bauble, a star-shaped cookie cutter, a 130g ‘Festive Cookie’ candle, and seven stickers.
In 2010, Zoella posted a tweet mocking chavs and tramps. She later deleted the tweet and has not tweeted since. In 2011, she called a female X Factor contestant a “fat chav”. In 2013, she launched her own brand advent calendar that was sold at Boots. The box cost PS50 and contained a 13g ‘Festive Cookie’ candle, seven stickers, and a PS50 room spray.
After the scandal, Zoella apologised for tweeting a ‘fat chav’ and “fat chav” on Twitter, a ‘fat chav”s name is “Zoella,” ”Festive Cookie” is the product of her ‘Festive Cookie’ scent. The fragrance has been a popular part of Zoella’s Christmas brand for the past few years.
After Zoella’s ‘Festive Cookie’ advent calendar was released in January, she apologised for using racist terms against celebrities. She called actress Quvenzhane Wallis “cocky” and Mariah Carey’s “fat chav” in her tweet. Despite the controversy, she has defended herself on Twitter, but her own brand also received criticism for its own products. For example, ‘Festive Cookie’ is a fragrance for the season that costs PS50.
Unlike many other vloggers, Zoella’s Instagram followers are extremely diverse. She often posts a mix of personal experiences, from her sex life to her love life. While it’s easy to connect with the ‘Chav’ in her life, it’s not always easy to make it in the real world, so she’s a great example of a ‘fake’.
